Natalie "Sun" Frost, a veteran spoken word artist, who has traveled, lived, and performed on many stages. Born and partially raised in the vibrant city of Memphis, she draws strength and inspiration from the very grounds that raised her. While artistically known for seven years, Sun has only actively graced the stage as a performing artist for three years, still leaving an indelible mark on the literary arts scene.
Her poetic journey has taken her to grand stages such as the Orpheum, Landers Center, Apache, and beyond. Prestigious nominations have been given by such platforms as the Mtzeni Awards (2017) and Best in Black Awards (2018). In 2023, she received the OPM Servant Award, a testament to her impactful contributions towards Literary Arts.
Natalie has expanded her artistic reach into the world of film, with scheduled appearances on Tubi in 2024 in two separate projects. A multifaceted artist, she conducts workshops, teaches business basics, offers 1:1 direct consultations and more, further solidifying her commitment to nurturing emerging talents.
In 2018, recognizing the need for a supportive community, Sun founded Spoken Memphis, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering literary artists. Under her leadership, Spoken Memphis has evolved into a crucial platform for skill development, exposure, and professional growth.
Natalie's impact led her to create 'The Mid-South Poets and Writers Festival' under the Spoken Memphis banner, showcasing and promoting local talent on a citywide scale. Her efforts have garnered community recognition, including a Seal of Resolution from the Shelby County Board of Commissioners(2023).
With an unwavering dedication to the community and a passion for her hometown, Natalie "Sun" Frost is committed to propelling talented artists forward.
